Stralsund (dpa/mv) – In Stralsund, the way is clear for the construction of what the ministry says is the largest vocational school campus in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. On Thursday, Minister of Construction Christian level (SPD) handed over an allocation of 4.5 million euros to the District Administrator of Vorpommern-Rügen, Stefan Kerth (SPD), in the Hanseatic city, according to a statement from the district. This is the starting point for construction.
With the money, the district bought both the former Parkhotel and the Haus der Wirtschaft. Both buildings will be important parts of the campus in the future. There will also be new buildings, including a sports hall. According to Kerth, the campus should centralize the previous locations in Stralsund. According to current plans, the campus should be completed in 2027 and cost a total of around 50 million euros.
