Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Truck slips against a tree: 100,000 euros in damage

Qualitz (dpa/mv) – Around 100,000 euros in damage was caused by an accident with a semitrailer truck near Bützow (Rostock district) caused by ice. As a police spokesman said on Thursday, the 48-year-old truck driver lost control of his vehicle in the morning. He went off the road and hit a tree near Qualitz. The driver’s cab and the tank were so damaged that around 500 liters of diesel leaked out. The driver was not injured, but faces a fine for speeding.

The street had to be closed. The environmental agency ordered that the fuel should be bound and disposed of by a specialist company, which would also involve replacing the soil.
