The new generations of young people in Spain, upon turning 18, no longer have as a priority in their lives getting a driver’s license.
What in the past was almost an urgent need among the new adults, today generation Z finds other cheaper mobility options on the market, mainly if they live in urban centers.
Obtaining a B-1 driving license in a driving school has never been cheap, but today, according to data from the OCU, it can reach up to 1,600 euros.
In order to promote this type of driving licence, which in some cases is essential to carry out a professional activity, several administrations have developed different aid plans in recent months to obtain a driver’s license.

The Valladolid Provincial Council in 2022 also applied an aid plan to obtain a driver’s license. Specifically, this item is intended exclusively for women residing in towns with less than 20,000 inhabitants and who were applying for a driver’s license for the first time.
Last year it had a budget of 24,600 euros, from which 41 women benefited with a grant of 600 euros. However, when the credit of the item ran out, almost 100 applicants were not approved for the subsidy, while 22 requests did not meet the requirements.
In the event that they choose to take the type C or D card exam, the subsidy will be 1,500 euros.
According to the RACE website, the budget for this aid for 2023 is 25,000 euros and ends on June 30.
Through the Málaga conduce proposal, the Málaga city council convenes financial aid for young people from Málaga who want to obtain a driver’s license of any kind.
