Telgte (dpa / lnw) – A cyclist was fatally injured on Monday morning when a train collided at a level crossing in Telgte (Warendorf district). The 53-year-old from Münster initially rode on a cycle path along the B51 in the direction of Telgte. When turning and crossing a level crossing, he then collided with a train coming from Telgte. Despite resuscitation measures, the cyclist died at the scene of the accident, the police said. A traffic accident team from Münster was on site to investigate the course of events. The main road and smaller branch lines were completely blocked for hours.
