One dead in Metro West Boulevard crash

One person is dead after a crash at the intersection of Metro West Boulevard and Wilshire Drive near South Kirkman Road, according to the Orlando Police Department.

Just after 9 p.m. Tuesday, a two-door car and a pick-up truck crashed into one another, said OPD Lt. Daniel Brady.

One person was killed in the crash, but Brady did not say which vehicle the victim had been in. 

Brady did not say how many people were involved in the crash or identify the victim.

Eastbound Metro West Boulevard at Wilshire Drive was closed Tuesday night as officers investigated the collision. At 10:20 p.m.,  Brady said drivers could expect the eastbound lanes to be closed “for several hours.”

Westbound Metro West Boulevard remained open.
