MIDDLETOWN — Supporters of President Donald Trump will hold the first of two planned rallies along Route 35 on Monday to promote the president’s “Contract with the American Voter.”
The rallies, which are affiliated with the “Main Street Patriots” activist group, are two of more than 70 similar events being held across the United States on Monday and March 4 in support of Trump’s agenda.
According to the Main Street Patriots website, the rallies will be “peaceful, positive, patriotic, uplifting, and open to anyone that supports an America First agenda.”
“Unlike those protesting against President Trump’s vision, we are a diverse coalition that are the heart and soul of America that wants our nation to fulfill our potential, as the greatest nation on God’s green earth!” the website states.
The first Middletown rally is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. on Monday at the ShopRite Plaza on the corner of Route 35 and Harmony Road. The March 4 rally is scheduled to take place at the same plaza between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
A group of the Trump supporters are then expected to travel to neighboring Red Bank at 6 p.m. for a meeting of that borough’s Human Relations Advisory Committee. The committee is scheduled to discuss if it should recommend that Red Bank become a “sanctuary city,” the Asbury Park Press reported.
