“One year after the atrocities committed by the Russian armed forces in Boutcha and other Ukrainian cities, France continues to support Ukrainian and international justice in order to fight against impunity for these crimes”. On Friday March 31, the French Embassy in Russia reiterated its support for kyiv, more than a year after the start of the Russian offensive. This is one of the messages that didn’t go down well with Moscow, which summoned the Chargé d’Affaires of the French Embassy on Tuesday, April 4, to protest against “false publications” on the atrocities attributed to the Russian forces in Ukraine.

According to Russian diplomacy, “it is categorically unacceptable to make false accusations against our military.” She accused France of “actively supplying military equipment and ammunition to the Ukrainian army and thus doing everything possible to prolong hostilities”.

Ukraine commemorated, on Sunday, the first anniversary of this macabre discovery that is Boutcha, which has become the symbol of the atrocities attributed to Russian forces in the conflict. In this city, near kyiv, the bodies of coldly executed civilians were discovered after the withdrawal of Russian troops. But Moscow has always denied its involvement in these deaths and has repeatedly referred to “a staging” of kyiv.
