Halle (dpa/sa) – The craft businesses in the south of Saxony-Anhalt see themselves well utilized. “The overall economic mood in the skilled trades remains good,” said a spokesman for the Halle Chamber of Crafts on Wednesday. The range of orders has declined slightly, but is still almost eight weeks.

Nevertheless, the overall economic environment will remain difficult even after many corona restrictions have been lifted, said the spokesman. Inflation and uncertainties about the further course of the war in Ukraine are to blame. This is also reflected in the more pessimistic expectations of companies.

A growing problem is the lack of specialist staff, said the spokesman. An urgently needed trend reversal towards more trainees in vocational training is not recognizable. Now companies are feeling the consequences.
