Halle (dpa/sa) – The motor vehicle companies in Saxony-Anhalt turned over more in the first half of 2022 than in the same period last year. Sales increased by 6.6 percent compared to the first six months of 2021, as the State Statistical Office in Halle announced on Friday. However, the main reason for the increase is higher prices, because price-adjusted sales fell by 1.0 percent across all motor vehicle areas.

The highest growth in sales was within the trade in motor vehicle parts and accessories, with a real increase of 11.2 percent. In the other areas of the motor vehicle trade – including repairs – price-adjusted sales, on the other hand, declined.
