San Francisco/Dresden (dpa/sn) – Companies from Saxony will be presenting themselves at the international semiconductor trade fair Semicon West in San Francisco (July 12 to 14) in the coming days. Ten exhibitors from the Free State will show their latest products and technologies there, as the Saxony Economic Development Agency (WFS) announced on Sunday. The companies Fabmatics from Dresden, FormFactor from Thiendorf, Mechatronic Systemtechnik from Pirna and 3D-Micromac from Chemnitz will be there.
In view of the great demand for microchips, decisions on new locations can be expected from their manufacturers, said WFS Managing Director Thomas Horn. “That’s why it’s important for Saxony to present itself as a leading European location for microelectronics on this international platform.” The show from July 12th to 14th is considered the world’s most important trade fair for the semiconductor industry.
