Tharandt (dpa / sn) – When several cars collided in Tharandt in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district, several people were injured – two of them seriously. An 87-year-old man drove his car into oncoming traffic on Saturday afternoon for reasons that are not yet clear, the police said on Sunday. A first oncoming car had come out of the way, a second had collided head-on with the 87-year-old’s car. The driver of another car was also unable to react in time and drove into the scene of the accident. The 87-year-old man and his 85-year-old wife were reportedly seriously injured. Two other people involved in the accident suffered minor injuries.
