Dresden / Zwickau (dpa / sn) – The Saxons started the Ascension Day calmly. As of Thursday morning, the police departments had not yet recorded any operations triggered by excessive partying. Experience has shown that operations develop over the course of the day, according to the police situation center in Zwickau.

The state police had announced increased controls to ensure that Father’s Day was as peaceful as possible. Particular attention should be paid to places and regions where there have been conflicts in recent years. The police called the banks of the Elbe in Dresden, Saxon Switzerland, but also other popular destinations throughout the country.
