BAYONNE — A second man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting last summer, police said.
Qujair Humphrey, 24, of Jersey City, was arrested and charged with attempted murder on Friday, Feb. 17, in relation to a shooting on 17th Street and Avenue C on June 26, 2016, police said.
Police had arrived on the scene to find a 22-year-old Jersey City man with one shot to the arm and two shots to the torso.
It is unclear how police found Humphrey and what lead police to him. In a briefing, police said three 40 caliber shell Casinoslot casings were recovered from the scene.
Police couldn’t immediately be reached today for comment.
Last August, police arrested Elnathan Hill Jr. in connection with the shooting. He was charged with attempted murder, weapons offenses and aggravated assault.
The victim in the shooting suffered injuries that weren’t life-threatening — despite being shot three times — and was treated at Jersey City Medical Center.
Humphrey faces charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and aggravated assault.
This is not Humphrey’s first run-in with police.
In March 2013, Humphrey — along with three other individuals — was arrested and charged after Bayonne police said they saw them engage in a drug deal with a 3-year-old in their car, according to previous reports.
