Rebellion’s Sniper Elite: Resistance is set to hit the shelves on January 30, 2025. The game will be available on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. It will also be included as a day one Game Pass title for those who subscribe to the service.
Players who pre-order the game will receive a bonus new Target Führer campaign mission, an extra weapon skin, and the Karabiner 98 Rifle. If you opt for the Deluxe Edition, you will also get the classic M1911 Pistol and two days of early access to the game.
Sniper Elite: Resistance marks the latest installment in Rebellion’s Sniper Elite franchise, which boasts a following of 20 million players. The game is known for its unique combination of stealth gameplay and sniping, as well as its infamous slow-motion X-ray kill cam shots, including shots to the testicles.
In this new game, players will take on the role of Harry Hawker, an agent of the Special Operations Executive (SOE), as he uncovers a powerful new weapon that could tip the scales in favor of the Nazis. The story unfolds in occupied France during World War 2, running parallel to the events of Sniper Elite 5.
The Resistance missions in the game offer a variety of challenges, including optional Kill List targets, multiple infiltration and extraction points, and side missions. Players will also encounter Propaganda Missions, a new addition to the series, where they must locate unique propaganda posters in each level to unlock special missions as a Resistance Fighter.
Some key features of Sniper Elite: Resistance include a full-length standalone campaign that can be played solo or in co-op mode, an authentic arsenal of World War 2 weaponry, the ability to customize and upgrade weapons, the return of the trademark X-ray kill cam, and multiplayer modes such as Invasion Mode and adversarial multiplayer.
Following the release of Sniper Elite 5 in 2022, which received a 7/10 rating from IGN, fans are eager to see how Sniper Elite: Resistance will build upon the series.
