However, Juan Roig’s company is going to make an exception this Christmas 2023 and will open its stores on Sundays in December, which coincide with the most important dates at this time of year.
Specifically, Mercadona will open its supermarkets on Sunday, December 24, Christmas Eve, and Sunday, December 31, New Year’s Eve. In this way, those who have rushed the time to shop for both festivities will be able to do so throughout the weekend.

The decision of this exceptional opening is due to the fact that Mercadona will close on Christmas Day (Monday, December 25) and on New Year’s Day (Monday, January 1), two of the eight national holidays in 2023. It will also not open on Saturday, January 6, Three Kings Day (Epiphany of the Lord).
