Apolda (dpa/th) – The closed museum barrack “Olle DDR” in Apolda has been broken into again. The thieves entered the building in December, ransacked several rooms and searched the cupboards and showcases for valuables, the police reported on Sunday. The theft was noticed the day before Christmas Eve.

According to the police, the perpetrators stole various exhibits from the GDR era. It was initially unclear how many objects and which ones were stolen. Since these items were primarily of historical value, no precise information could be given on the amount of the looted goods.

The museum barracks with the exhibition about everyday life in the GDR has been closed for a long time. According to the police, there had been a break-in there before.
