Erfurt/Bochum (dpa/th) – The labor market for mini-jobbers in Thuringia has recovered after a slump due to the corona pandemic. As reported by the mini-job center in Bochum on Wednesday, around 94,500 women and men were employed in mini-jobs in the state in the first quarter of the year. In the same period of the previous year, there were a good 87,800.
As the report also shows, 92,125 mini-jobbers work in the commercial sector. That is 6765 or 7.9 percent more than in the first three months of 2021. In contrast, the number of mini-jobbers employed in private households in Thuringia fell by 4.3 percent from 2481 in the same period last year to 2374.
According to the report, there are 6.47 million mini-jobbers nationwide. According to the Minijob-Zentrale, the proportion of mini-jobbers in the commercial sector who are subject to pension insurance is 20.1 percent nationwide. The proportion is highest in Berlin at 26.9 percent, in Thuringia at 17.6 percent and in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at 17.2 percent the lowest.
