Apolda (dpa/th) – A drunk shot himself in the hand with a blank pistol in Apolda (Weimarer Land district). The 41-year-old was taken to a clinic with the ammunition still stuck in his hand, the police said on Thursday. According to initial findings, the man handled the weapon in front of a 40-year-old acquaintance on Wednesday evening after extensive alcohol consumption and pulled the trigger due to ignorance of the charge level. The 41-year-old is in possession of a small firearms license. He was measured at 1.55 per mille breath alcohol. The incident was reported to the weapons authority, it said.
