Gera (dpa/th) – Georgia Baker from Australia won the second stage of the 34th Tour of Thuringia in Gera on Wednesday. The former track world champion prevailed after 99.6 kilometers in the sprint ahead of Maria Giulia Confalonieri from Italy and Femke Markus from the Netherlands. The best German was the forester Romy Kasper in the jersey of the German national team in sixth place. Baker’s compatriot and teammate Alexandra Manly successfully defended the overall leader’s yellow jersey.
