Schmalkalden-Meiningen (dpa/th) – A driver without a driver’s license had an accident under drugs in Zella-Mehlis (Schmalkalden-Meiningen district). The 57-year-old was driving his car on Tuesday afternoon and wanted to turn left, the police said on Wednesday. He drove over a marked restricted area and then collided with another car. The man and the 51-year-old driver of the other car were unharmed.

When the accident was recorded, the police found that the 57-year-old did not have a valid driver’s license. A rapid drug test was reported to be positive for cannabis and methamphetamine. Blood was then drawn from the man. The police are investigating.
