Police placed a 55-year-old man in custody after he was accused of strangling his partner to death in a fight at their Montmagny family home.
Just after the tragedy, the 50-year old took refuge with his neighbors. He told them about what had happened. The neighbors then called the police.
The police arrived on the scene and found the unconscious woman on first floor of pavilion. The victim died despite multiple attempts to revive her.
The couple had their two children, aged 3 and 6, in the house at the time of the events. Paramedics picked them up and took them to the hospital.
