Ukrainian strikes injured seven people, including a child, Monday in Russia, in the Belgorod region, bordering Ukraine, according to regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, who announced it on Telegram.
The strikes targeted several residential buildings in the Valuysk district, Vyacheslav Gladkov said, posting an image of a teddy bear next to a shattered window in one of the affected buildings.
“Valuysk municipal district is under fire from Ukrainian forces. According to initial information, seven people were injured, including a child with a broken collarbone,” he wrote, adding that all the injured were hospitalized.
Ukrainian strikes also targeted Monday two villages in the Kursk region, also bordering Ukraine, according to local governor Roman Starovoit.
“Ukrainian forces struck the villages of Tiotkino and Popovo-Lejatchi this morning,” causing no casualties, Roman Starovoit said on Telegram, adding that the strikes caused partial power cuts and damaged several cars.
For his part, the governor of Crimea, Sergei Aksionov, announced on Monday that two drones had been shot down overnight over this peninsula annexed by Russia.
Bombings and drone attacks have increased in recent weeks in the Russian regions bordering Ukraine and in Crimea, against the backdrop of a Ukrainian counter-offensive on the front.
