The CEO of Aéroports de Paris (ADP), Augustin de Romanet, will remain in his position until the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games “in order to guarantee [their] good organization”, but will not be renewed beyond that. , announced the Prime Minister’s services in a press release on Wednesday March 20.
“At the end of the Olympic Games, the President of the National Assembly and the President of the Senate will be informed by the President of the Republic of the name of the envisaged successor”, specified Matignon, while the mandate of Mr. de Romanet was initially to end in May. The CEO of ADP said he was “available” for a third five-year term, based on his record and in particular the post-pandemic recovery of the group which operates around twenty airports around the world.
ADP thus achieved a positive net result in 2023 for the second consecutive year, at 631 million euros (22% over the year). While Mr. de Romanet will be 63 years old at the beginning of April, a renewal for 5 years would however have required changing the statutes to push back the age limit, currently set at 65 years.
This announcement comes at the end of a board meeting and while Augustin de Romanet must appear from Thursday before the Paris court, with the former secretary general of the Elysée Jean-Pierre Jouyet, for favoritism and misappropriation of public funds when they were at the head of the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations. Or between 2007 and 2012 for Mr. de Romanet.
The boss of ADP “contests” any infringement, his lawyer Jean-Marc Fédida told AFP. If the trial is supposed to begin on Thursday, a request for adjournment will however be filed due to the state of health of a lawyer, AFP learned from the parties.
