Lola Ortiz Luque has become tonight this Friday the Queen of Carnival ‘Studio 54’ of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 2023 with the fantasy ‘Perfidia de amor’.
With the warmth of the public embracing her, Lola Ortiz stepped on stage with a powerful bet in red and silver, inspired by the fight and feminine strength, which reinvents itself and rises even after problems, as it has expressed in its presentation. Thousands of sparkles gave birth to a staging in which her dress in her red was a color hit between the blacks and silvers of her design.
It is a proposal designed by Sergio León Ortega and Josep López Martí on behalf of Tapicería Peñate, according to the capital’s City Council, which indicates that about 3,500 attendees filled the stage of the Parque Santa Catalina.
The new Queen of the Carnival of the capital of Gran Canaria has confessed that she is “very happy” to be able to celebrate “a moment that she has been waiting for so long” and to inaugurate a year of reign in which “she will take the party beyond the Canary Islands so that it is known in the entire world”.
Always a Carnival fan, the Queen of Studio 54 (the New York nightclub that Carnival is inspired by this year), has dedicated this crown to soccer player Luis Ojeda, her boyfriend who died in 2021, who is “an angel” who gives her ” forces from heaven.”
For her part, Gara Morales Suárez, who has represented Holidayworld Maspalomas with a design by Kevin Rodríguez and Enrique González, has been named first lady; and Coral Gutiérrez has become the second lady with the fantasy ‘Timanfaya’, designed by Kilian Betancor Falcón on behalf of Restaurante El Centro Guayadeque.
Likewise, the title of third lady has fallen to María Santiago Hernández, who has represented Radio Sintonía Fuerteventura, Aluminios Araya and Padilla Supermercados-Spar with the design ‘Entre las aguas de Cofete’ by Luis Miguel Rodríguez Roger.
Finally, Paula Santana has been chosen as fourth lady wearing ‘Volver’, the design by Juan Carlos Armas who has represented Dormitorum and El gusto por el vino.
In total, more than 700 people, including candidates, dancers, actors, extras and Carnival groups have paraded tonight through the carnival tables under the artistic direction of Israel Reyes.
