Elon Musk recently tried to host a digital town hall event but had to cancel it due to technical issues. The event was supposed to start at 8 p.m. ET, but it began streaming more than 20 minutes late. When Musk joined the event, he talked about a podcast interview he did with Joe Rogan and offered to answer questions. However, when an operator tried to take questions from listeners, the line went silent.

The operator asked Musk if he thinks they will win, presumably referring to former President Donald Trump, whom Musk has supported financially. Musk expressed confidence in winning if people vote. Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, Musk decided to cancel the event. He promised to start a regular livestream event on X instead.

Following the cancellation, Musk briefly talked about a squirrel that gained social media fame and was recently euthanized. He also mentioned not restarting the Q&A session and encouraged followers to listen to his interview with Joe Rogan, who endorsed Trump in a post promoting the episode.

This is not the first election-related event hosted by Musk that faced technical issues. An interview between Musk and Trump in August was delayed by 40 minutes due to glitches, which Musk attributed to a cyberattack. However, experts believed it was due to high user traffic. Another event last year, introducing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign, was delayed by 25 minutes and also had technical difficulties.

It seems like technical problems have been a recurring challenge for Musk when hosting virtual events related to politics on X. Despite his efforts, issues like delays and glitches continue to disrupt these events. Perhaps in the future, Musk will find a more reliable way to conduct such events without encountering technical difficulties.
