A true icon in the world of magic. Gérard Majax, whose real name is Maurice Faier, was a star in the 90s. Renowned magician, he had a great career on television where he hosted shows like Abracadabra, the hidden camera Magie-surprise and finally, Magie Majax . He also played in films such as The Big Blond with a Black Shoe and The Shallot Race.
After working in the Club Dorothée where he offered his magic tricks then in the show Stars à la barre, hosted by Thierry Ardisson on Antenne 2, he finally retired in 2014. Today, at 81, Gérard Majax continues to perform on stage to amaze his audience with his best tricks. But this is not the only reason which pushes him to return to service.
This Wednesday, May 29, as a guest on the show Chez Jordan, presented by Jordan De Luxe, he revealed the amount of his pension. “It’s pathetic!”, he said. The host then asked him how much he receives at the age of 81. “I have a small pension of around 1,500 euros. It’s nothing! I work, it’s good. It forces me to work!”, confided the retiree who continues to work to support himself.
The retiree also says he has difficulty doing magic tricks due to slight tremors linked to health problems. “A stroke [paralyzed] my right hand and when you have that, you tell yourself that it’s over. Then, with good care, you come out of it without any after-effects,” he concludes.
