Ineos has been making waves in the off-road vehicle market with its durable ladder-frame chassis, which serves as the foundation for their Grenadier and Grenadier Quartermaster models. According to Justin Hocevar, head of APAC region at Ineos Automotive, there is still a lot of potential to explore different configurations on this platform. The company showcased various concept vehicles at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, including a V8-powered wagon, a ‘Shortermaster’ pickup, a portal axle-equipped Quartermaster, a rally raid racer, and a Grenadier Safari vehicle.

In addition to these exciting concepts, Ineos also introduced a hydrogen fuel-cell Grenadier wagon demonstrator, hinting at their commitment to innovation in sustainable technology. While the production future of these concepts remains uncertain, the interest in a V8-powered Grenadier is high among enthusiasts. However, Hocevar emphasized the importance of taking one step at a time and ensuring that any new configurations serve a purposeful function within the vehicle.

Despite the versatility of the Grenadier platform, Ineos is currently not exploring certain body configurations, such as a seven-seat version of the Grenadier wagon or a single-cab version of the Quartermaster. Hocevar explained that their focus is on the two- and five-seat markets, which align with their current production capacity and global launch strategy. However, he did not rule out the possibility of exploring these configurations in the future, emphasizing the company’s commitment to offering a diverse and specialized range of vehicles.

While the single-cab market is competitive and price-driven, Ineos recognizes the potential opportunities it presents and will keep a close eye on consumer demand. As a specialist 4×4 manufacturer, Ineos aims to cater to a wide range of customer preferences and needs, ensuring that their portfolio of vehicles remains relevant and appealing in the market. With their ongoing dedication to innovation and customer-centric approach, Ineos is poised to make a significant impact in the off-road vehicle industry with their Grenadier lineup.
