Editorial workers at the Law360, a company owned by LexisNexis, have come to a tentative agreement for a new five-year contract. This agreement brings an end to a week-long strike due to unfair labor practices involving changes to the healthcare plan and illegal layoffs that occurred earlier in the year. The 250 journalists represented by the NewsGuild of New York (TNG-CWA Local 31003) at Law360 have made significant progress with this tentative agreement.

The new contract includes a variety of benefits for the workers, such as an average wage increase of 12 percent, extended family leave up to 14 weeks, an average bonus of $9,000, and solid job protections related to artificial intelligence. Hailey Konnath, a reporter for Law360 and the unit chair for the union, expressed the importance of this agreement in recognizing the value of the workers. She highlighted the determination of the workers to secure a contract that acknowledges their worth. The power of solidarity among the workers and the support from the labor community played a crucial role in reaching this point and finalizing the tentative deal.

A ratification vote is scheduled for Guild members on September 23 to officially approve the new contract. This agreement signifies a significant step forward for the editorial workers at Law360 and emphasizes the importance of unity and determination in labor negotiations. The commitment of the workers to stand up for their rights and worth has led to positive outcomes and improved working conditions through this new contract.
