Queen Elizabeth’s green 1978 custom Land Rover, equipped with special royal buttons for communication with her driver, is expected to be sold for £80,000. The vehicle, part of the Royal Review convoy of cars, features bespoke features such as a traffic light button system that allowed the late monarch to indicate when to start, slow down, or stop.

Additionally, the Land Rover has a plexiglass screen and handrail in the rear to enable Her Majesty to stand while traveling. It was previously owned by Queen Elizabeth II until 2012 when it was purchased at an auction by British-German businessman Dean Kronsbein for £28,000. After Mr. Kronsbein’s passing in a yacht accident, the classic car is now back on the market.

The unique 4×4 vehicle, with the number plate 3333 LR, features the royal coat of arms, the Queen’s personal standard flag, and the letters ‘GB’ above the rear number plate. It is set to be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s in London on November 1, along with the rest of Mr. Kronsbein’s car collection.

Land Rover has had a special relationship with the Royal Family for many years, initially receiving a royal warrant in 1951 from King George VI. The brand holds warrants from Queen Elizabeth II, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, and the Queen Mother. In fact, Prince Philip’s coffin was transported in a Land Rover TD5 Defender 130 that he designed himself at his funeral in 2021.

The sale of Queen Elizabeth’s custom Land Rover presents an exceptional opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts to own a piece of royal history. The vehicle’s unique features and royal connections add to its value and make it a sought-after item in the world of classic car auctions. Don’t miss the chance to own a piece of British royal heritage by bidding on this iconic Land Rover.
