To the east of the Moselle, halfway between the Cristalleries de Saint-Louis and the Lalique museum, the glass-making site Meisenthal continues its multifaceted renaissance. For four decades, the former glass foundry (1704-1969) has been transformed into a leading tourist destination in Lorraine: Glass and Crystal Museum (1983), Center international d’art verrier (1992), shows and exhibitions (1996). After four years of work carried out in tandem by the architectural agencies Freaks and SO-IL, the transmission of glass know-how now involves a new visit route, a souvenir shop, to which are added an administrative building and a 500-seat concert hall. The pivot of this metamorphosis? A wave of concrete that connects all the buildings around an open courtyard, devoted to outdoor events (glass blowing demonstrations, etc.). Each year, 35,000 Christmas baubles are produced here, veritable works of art from the Vosges du Nord§

This is the share of employees who think they are more efficient in the office than elsewhere. To limit videoconferences, 67% of managers have defined rules that govern remote meetings (camera, duration).

People in their 40s and 50s struggle more than the younger generations to integrate the new ways of working linked to the rise of remote collaboration. Moreover, the majority of people aged 45 to 54 still prefer to work face-to-face (63%). During a professional video call, these same employees would be twice as concerned about their image as those aged 18 to 24. Even working from home, 45-54 year olds remain fairly conventional in their dress and physical appearance. Younger people prefer a more comfortable style: wearing sneakers, no makeup, etc. A quarter of 45-54 year olds use background filters to hide their habitat, compared to just 4% of 18-24 year olds. The reason ? Probably a lack of habit of sharing one’s private life on the Internet, and a need to protect the latter.
