Ford to Unveil New Electric SUV on July 10

Ford is gearing up to reveal its latest all-electric model in Cologne, Germany on July 10. While the new SUV is expected to be named the Capri, there has been no official confirmation yet. The vehicle will be based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, marking Ford’s second foray into the electric vehicle market.

During a recent factory visit, journalists were informed that the new sports crossover will be produced alongside the Explorer on the same assembly line in Cologne. Production is set to range between one third and two thirds of the Explorer’s output, with the potential to build 250,000 units of both vehicles per year in three shifts.

Competing against models like the Volkswagen ID.5, Skoda Enyaq, Smart #3, Volvo C40 Recharge, Nissan Ariya, and Renault Megane E-Tech, the new Ford SUV is estimated to be priced around €42,500 (approximately £36,000) according to Automotive News Europe. Customers can expect to place orders by the end of the year, with availability set for the end of the summer.

Car enthusiasts and industry insiders alike are eagerly anticipating the unveiling of the new Ford electric SUV, which promises to deliver a blend of performance, style, and eco-friendliness. Stay tuned for more updates as the official launch date approaches.
