Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) starts again as favorite this weekend at the MotoGP Grand Prix of Catalonia. The current world champion has 62 and 68 points advantage over his pursuers, the Spanish Jorge Martín (Ducati-Pramac) and the Italian Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati-VR46).
“After the perfect weekend in Austria, all the conditions have been met to have a good performance here too: my feeling with the bike is great and the team works super well, they always give me what I ask for and they give me all the ingredients to be competitive”, highlights the Italian.
Pecco Bagnaia has been practically untouchable for three months, having finished in first or second position in the last five Grands Prix (3 wins, 2 second places).
On the other hand, the Spanish driver Jorge Martín arrives in Catalonia determined to forget the bad weekend in Austria, in which he finished the sprint race third… but with a long-lap penalty for irresponsible driving that weighed him down on Sunday , where he did not go from seventh position.
Marc Márquez will compete in the MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix in Montmeló where this year he will have to suffer a little more than other years. In fact, in training this Friday he suffered a new fall.
“We will try to do our best, get one hundred percent out of the situation and over the weekend see where we are,” explained the eight-time world champion.
Regarding his chances this weekend in Montmeló, where despite suffering he has always finished on the podium, he was sincere when assuring that “it looks complicated, I have to win the lottery and we will see, well you never know, but we are in a completely different dynamic and I like to hear this information, but right now it is not time to think about that”.
