After a traffic accident on the A 44, a man makes an extraordinary escape. For a co-driver who was not originally his co-driver, the escape becomes martyrdom because she is seriously injured.

A man committed an extraordinary escape after a traffic accident on Autobahn 44 near Jüchen in North Rhine-Westphalia – because he seized the car of a first responder and then built another accident with it, in which a woman on the passenger seat was seriously injured. “Instead of helping the woman, the man continued to flee on foot,” police said. Eventually he was caught.

According to the current status of the police investigation, the escape began in several stages when the 30-year-old man from Aachen drove his VW into a Renault that a 69-year-old from Düren was driving. When a first responder stopped his Nissan on site, the 30-year-old climbed into his parked car on the driver’s side and fled the scene of the accident with the passenger.

A short time later, according to the police, he lost control of the car and built another accident, in which the 56-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries. Instead of helping the woman, the man continued to flee on foot. A police helicopter was also used in the pursuit. The man was arrested shortly afterwards.
