A fire breaks out in a high-rise building in the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul. Part of the facade is on fire almost the entire height of the building. So far there have been no reports of injuries. The fire is now said to be under control.

A fire broke out at a 24-story apartment building in Istanbul, Turkey. The flames could be seen on part of the facade, almost the entire height of the building. As the mayor of Turkey’s largest city, Ekrem Imamoglu, later announced, the fire brigade was able to bring the fire under control.

The cause of the fire is still unclear. Residents were taken out of the building, and there have been no reports of injuries so far, as reported by the state broadcaster TRT. Accordingly, the electricity around the building had been switched off. The residential building is in Kadikoy, one of the most densely populated districts of Istanbul.
