More familiar faces are set to grace the screens in the upcoming spinoff series “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.” Zoe Perry will be guest starring as Georgie and Sheldon’s mother Mary Cooper, Annie Potts as his Meemaw, and Raegan Revord as sister Missy Cooper in Season 1.
The show stars Montana Jordan reprising his role as Georgie and Emily Osment as his wife Mandy, depicting their journey as they start a family in Texas. Unlike “Young Sheldon,” this series will be a multi-camera comedy like “The Big Bang Theory.” Rachel Bay Jones and Will Sasso will also star in the show as Audrey McCallister and Jim McCallister, respectively.
Executive producer Chuck Lorre hinted that other “Young Sheldon” alums might make appearances, such as Iain Armitage as Sheldon. Lorre expressed optimism about this crossover, emphasizing the importance of Georgie’s family in the storyline.
The show is being produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, with Lorre, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland serving as executive producers. The guest casting of Perry, Potts, and Revord was announced during CBS’ Television Critics Association press tour.
Perry, Potts, and Revord are known for their roles on the seven seasons of “Young Sheldon,” which aired from 2017 to 2024. As “Young Sheldon” concluded its final season, “George & Mandy’s First Marriage” is set to premiere on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
Moreover, Lorre hinted at another spinoff in the “The Big Bang Theory” universe centered around the character Max, although details remain scarce. Lorre mentioned that the project is still in development, leaving fans eager for more updates in the future.
