Birmingham Royal Ballet Makes Debut Performance at Glastonbury Festival
Birmingham Royal Ballet (BRB) is set to make its first appearance at the renowned Glastonbury Festival, taking to the iconic Pyramid Stage on Sunday, 30 June. The performance, titled Interlinked and choreographed by Juliano Nunes, promises to be a “powerful and moving abstract ballet”.
Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet, Carlos Acosta, expressed his excitement, stating, “We are honored to be bringing ballet to the iconic Pyramid Stage at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. All of us at Birmingham Royal Ballet are eager to deliver a performance that will leave a lasting impression on festival-goers.”
This milestone performance at Glastonbury comes on the heels of the company’s previous successes, including the sold-out production of Black Sabbath – The Ballet in 2023 and a triumphant UK tour of The Sleeping Beauty in 2024. Additionally, BRB is gearing up for the world premiere of Luna, a new piece inspired by the trailblazing women of Birmingham and crafted by an all-female creative team.
