Cubs' David Ross, South Side native Mr. T to compete on 'DWTS'

After helping the Cubs win the World Series, recently retired catcher David Ross now has his sights set on the mirror ball trophy.   

Ross, a Cubs special assistant to baseball operations, and South Side native Mr. T will be slipping on their dancing shoes on the upcoming season of "Dancing with the Stars," the ABC network announced Wednesday.

Ross, who is being billed as the show’s first baseball star, is paired with dancer Lindsay Arnold. Mr. T., best known for starring on the ’80s show "The A-Team," is paired with Kym Herjavec.

"The Bachelor" star Nick Viall, who recently moved from Chicago; former figure skater Nancy Kerrigan; and comedian Chris Kattan are also in the 12-pair lineup.
