Def Leppard and Tom Morello have joined forces for a new stadium anthem called “Just Like 73.” The band wanted to capture the essence of the early seventies with this single, celebrating the music and technological advancements of that era.

Lead guitarist Phil Collen shared that watching David Bowie on TV during 1972-1973 changed his perception of music, inspiring the song “Just Like 73.” The track aims to showcase the awakening that many experienced during that time.

Tom Morello, known for his incredible guitar solos, makes an appearance in the song with a mind-blowing performance. Morello expressed his excitement about rocking out on “Just Like 73” and reminisced about playing Def Leppard’s “Rock Of Ages” in his college band years ago.

An animated music video for the single will be released on June 20, featuring the band and Morello. Fans can also preorder a limited edition 7″ single, set to be available on August 2.

In addition to the new single, Def Leppard is gearing up for a massive stadium tour with Journey starting on July 6 in St. Louis. The tour will run through September 8 in Denver, with special guests Heart, Steve Miller Band, and Cheap Trick making appearances at select shows.

The collaboration between Def Leppard and Tom Morello brings together two iconic musical forces to create a nostalgic yet powerful anthem that pays homage to a significant era in music history. Fans can expect an electrifying experience both on the single and during the upcoming stadium tour, where these legendary artists will rock out like never before.
