The 2024 Hue International Arts Festival Week came to a close with a spectacular art program titled “Returning to Hue Festival” held at Kien Trung Palace in Hue Imperial City. This 5-day event, which was part of the larger Hue Festival 2024, showcased a wide range of activities and cultural exchanges among countries from around the world, leaving a lasting impact on both visitors and locals alike.

One of the main attractions of the Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 was the performances by various domestic and international art groups. Additionally, the music program “Dialogue with Trinh Cong Son – Love Found”, a mesmerizing light festival, a lively “Cultural Color” street festival, a grand royal gala dinner, a vibrant beer festival, an enchanting lantern festival, and a delightful vegetarian cuisine festival were also part of the festivities.

The event brought together numerous artists and performers, ranging from professionals to amateurs. Visitors like Nguyen Trong Duong from Hanoi expressed their enthusiasm, stating that the festival offered a variety of enjoyable and meaningful activities that left a lasting impression.

In addition to the main programs held at the Hue Imperial Citadel, there were also street festivals and community stages that provided entertainment for both residents and tourists. Noteworthy activities included the Tam Giang River Festival and the Countryside Market Festival. Local resident Mai Huyen Trang praised this year’s street festival for its exciting atmosphere, diverse street art performances, and engaging community activities along the banks of the Huong River that captivated both locals and tourists.

The tourism sector estimated that the festival drew in over 100,000 visitors from both domestic and international locations. Vice Chairman of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Thanh Binh, emphasized the importance of the festival in enhancing Hue’s reputation as a cultural and tourist hub. He highlighted the festival’s role in elevating Hue to a centrally run city in the future, building upon its success over the past 24 years to establish itself as a national brand of international significance.
