The Curse of the Ninth: Inside No 9 Unveils New Episode

Inside No 9 is back with a new episode titled “The Curse of the Ninth,” exploring the eerie classical music superstition. The penultimate episode of the series takes a dive into the belief that composers meet a tragic fate after completing their ninth symphony.

The episode, shot in a period-drama style, pays homage to legendary composers like Mahler, Beethoven, and Schubert, who all passed away either during or after working on their tenth symphonies. Creators Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton delve into this superstition, following in the footsteps of the 19th season of Midsomer Murders.

Set in Edwardian times, the upcoming Inside No 9 installment follows Shearsmith as Jonah, a skilled piano tuner, who visits Pemberton’s Dickey at a grand country estate. The star-studded cast includes Natalie Dormer, Eddie Marsan, and Hayley Squires, promising a captivating and chilling episode.
