After a disco night, a 23-year-old does not return home. Later, the student’s body is found in a river. Now the police are reporting a first investigation success.
Six weeks after the violent death of a student from the district of Rosenheim in Upper Bavaria, the police arrested a suspect. The between 18 and 21-year-old adolescent is now in custody, said the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South. He comes from the southern district of Rosenheim. When asked, the investigators gave neither the exact age nor the charge against the young man.
According to the police, the young man was arrested on Friday afternoon while he was out and about. Investigators then searched his apartment in the southern district of Rosenheim, with what result is not known.
Hanna W. did not come home at the beginning of October after visiting a disco in Aschau. Hours later, a passer-by discovered her body in the Prien. The forensic examination revealed that she was violently killed. Since then, the Soko “Club” has been searching intensively for the perpetrator.
The young woman’s jacket and handbag were also found in the river. A ring belonging to the victim, which the young woman had worn the evening before her death, was also found as possible evidence. The approximately 60 investigators from the special commission also interviewed visitors to the disco who had celebrated there on the night of the crime. Several hundred guests visited the music club on the night of October 2nd and 3rd, the day of German unity. Testimonies are said to have finally led to suspicions against the person who has now been arrested.
Another focus was the evaluation of several hundred gigabytes of photos and videos. The officials had received the material from club guests, as well as surveillance footage from the community and the club. “There are a number of cameras there, and we want to analyze the images meticulously,” said a police spokesman days before the arrest.
The police emphasized that the presumption of innocence still applies to the suspect, who is now in custody. The investigations, in particular into the exact course of the night of the crime, are not yet complete.
