Major Headline Act J Hus Cancels Parklife Appearance Just Days Before Festival
A major headline act has pulled out of the Parklife festival with just days to go due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’. Mercury Prize-nominated J Hus will no longer be performing at the festival in Heaton Park this weekend. The UK’s biggest metropolitan festival will take place on June 8-9, with other performances from American rapper and singer Doja Cat and electronic duo Disclosure.
On Tuesday (June 4), Parklife announced that J Hus, who was due to hit The Valley stage on the Sunday, will no longer be performing. A statement posted to X read: “Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, J Hus will no longer be performing at this year’s festival. With over 100 acts gracing Heaton Park this weekend, we look forward to welcoming everyone to Parklife 2024 on Saturday. Please check the Parklife App to stay up to date with any updates from this weekend’s programme. PL team x.”
It comes just days after drill artist Digga D, who was also due to perform at the festival and was originally scheduled for the main Parklife Stage on the Saturday, was also removed from the line-up. Fisher, another of Parklife’s main headliners, also pulled out of the festival with just a week to go due to ‘personal reasons’. Fisher, a Australian house and techno producer based in Los Angeles, said that he and his wife Chloe are facing ‘times of uncertainty’ ahead of the birth of their child, which is due in late June.
