‘Normal People’ Director Denies Season 2 Rumors

‘Normal People’ director Lenny Abrahamson has put an end to the speculation surrounding a potential season 2 of the popular series. Despite hints from the show’s stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal, Abrahamson has confirmed that there are currently no plans for a second season.

The rumors began circulating after Daisy Edgar-Jones shared a selfie with Paul Mescal on Instagram, teasing “big news coming soon.” This post, along with a similar one from the production company Element Pictures, had fans eagerly anticipating a follow-up to the hit show.

However, Abrahamson has since clarified the situation in an interview with the Irish Mirror, stating, “I’ve no idea where that idea came from! There are no plans or discussions at all at the moment.”

Based on Sally Rooney’s bestselling novel, ‘Normal People’ premiered on BBC Three on April 26, 2020, and was later made available for streaming on Hulu on April 29, 2020. Fans of the show will have to wait for any official announcements regarding the possibility of a second season.
