With the Oscars just days away, most celebrities have already chosen their attire, while some are still making last-minute decisions about their final looks. Although the Academy Awards are all about recognizing those in the movie industry for their hard work, there is no denying that red carpet arrivals are one of the most exciting parts of the night.
Considering the past few award shows like the Golden Globes and Grammys, as well as recent runways and red carpet premieres, here are some fashion predictions and trends that will most likely make their way onto the red carpet at the 89th Academy Awards Sunday night.
Florals and trains
Florals and trains, if done right, can add elegance to any ensemble. Singer Kelsea Ballerini wore an Ines Di Santo gown to the 2017 Grammy Awards that featured sheer fabric and a fitted bodysuit, which showed off the singer’s physique while still being classy enough for the red carpet. Meanwhile, Elle King hit the same red carpet wearing a pink Teuta Matoshi Duriqi floral gown with a flower crown which she may have regretted. We’re guessing most celebs will skip the flower crown and opt for nothing at all or a simple headband to tie the look together.

Sequins and plunging necklines
Everyone wants to shine on award night and sequins give celebrities that extra push they need to stand out from the other A-listers gracing the red carpet. Not that she needed any extra attention (considering everyone was more interested in her baby bump) but Beyoncé looked stunning wearing a red sequined Peter Dundas gown that featured a plunging neckline to the Grammys. A month prior, actress Kristen Bell wore a similar look to the Golden Globes. The “Frozen” star sported a black sequined Jenny Packham dress with a risqué neckline.

Corsets
This long-running fashion trend is bound to make Gobahis an appearance on the Oscars red carpet. However, it is likely that the corset dresses for the ceremony will be styled differently compared to how it has been worn lately. Celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Sienna Miller have worn sexy versions of the corset dress from designers like La Perla and Dior. For the Oscars, celebs will most likely opt out of sheer material and wear a more modest version of the sultry look.

Michael Kors
It’s no secret Long Island native Michael Kors has a long list of loyal celebrity pals and fans. From creating looks for the former first lady Michelle Obama to Academy Award winner Charlize Theron, Kors has dressed them all, so don’t be surprised when someone announces that they are wearing an item from the designer.
