After the police in Mistelbach, Franconia, discovered the bodies of a pediatrician and his wife in the basement, their daughter is suspected of murder. Now she has to answer in court. The indictment reveals chilling details about the possible course of events.
At the beginning of the trial for a double murder of a doctor couple in the Franconian town of Mistelbach, cruel details became known before the Bayreuth district court. The couple’s eldest daughter, who was charged with murder along with her boyfriend, is said to have prevented her younger brother from helping her dying parents, according to the indictment read out by the prosecutor’s office.
Because of the youthful age of the daughter, who was 16 at the time of the crime, and the boyfriend, who was growing up at the age of 18, the court excluded the public after reading out the indictment. This should only be allowed again for the expected announcement of the verdict shortly before Christmas.
The act of January 9 caused horror far beyond the Franconian community. Rescue workers alerted by neighbors discovered the 51-year-old pediatrician and his 47-year-old wife stabbed in the basement. Shortly thereafter, the boyfriend of the eldest daughter turned himself in. Six weeks later, this was also targeted by the investigators as a suspect.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the act goes back to a joint plan by the couple, with the motive being hatred of the parents. According to the indictment, the eldest daughter is said to have met her boyfriend Felix S. four months before the crime, who had been living in the family household since November last year. There, the relationship between the eldest daughter – of a total of four children – and her parents had been marked by arguments for a long time.
“The accused hated her parents and wanted them dead,” the prosecutors said. After another argument with their father the day before the double murder, the young couple decided that their parents should be murdered. They therefore planned to make the crime look like a burglary.
To implement the plan, the daughter’s boyfriend first left the family home and then returned there dressed in black with a ski mask, headlamp and knife. He stabbed his sleeping father many times in his parents’ bedroom in the basement.
The 51-year-old was able to get out of bed and tried to defend himself, but he collapsed dead a short time later. After that, the friend also attacked the mother, who had woken up in the meantime, screaming in panic, with a large number of stitches, and she too died on the spot from the injuries.
Following the joint action plan, the eldest daughter on the upper floor prevented her brother, who had been awakened by the screams, from going to the parents and helping. When the sister woke up from the eldest sister’s loud argument with her brother, she and her boyfriend stopped the two children from getting help. According to the indictment, they ended an emergency call that had already started by hanging up, after which they took the siblings’ telephone and cell phone away.
According to youth criminal law, the two accused face up to ten years in prison if they are convicted. If the court sees a particular degree of guilt, the sentence can be increased to 15 years.
