TRAD Music Takeover: Belfast TradFest 2024 Unveils Lineup of Over 350 Events
Belfast TradFest, Northern Ireland’s renowned traditional music festival, is gearing up for its 6th edition with a spectacular lineup of over three hundred and fifty events. From July 21st to 28th, the festival will showcase the world’s finest traditional musicians, singers, and dancers, offering a week filled with thrilling concerts, workshops, sessions, and community events.
The festival, known for celebrating and preserving the rich heritage of Irish and Scottish music, aims to nurture new talent and provide a platform for artists to showcase their skills. This year’s program features a diverse lineup of internationally acclaimed performers, as well as emerging local artists.
The opening concert will feature the legendary Moya Brennan, along with Zoe Conway & John McIntyre, Cherish the Ladies, Lúnasa, Lumiere, Bow Brothers, and many more exciting acts. The festival will also host the Belfast TradFest Summer School of Traditional Music, providing attendees with the opportunity to learn from some of the best musicians in the business.
In addition to the music performances, Belfast TradFest will host special events such as the Belfast Harp Festival concert, “Ceol na nGael / Wild music of the Gael” showcase, and the celebration of fiddler Seán Maguire. The festival will also feature a Session Trail sponsored by Dunville’s Irish Whiskey, offering over 70 sessions in traditional pubs across Belfast.
