Treasure Hunt Success: Residents Score Free Llangollen Eisteddfod Tickets

Scores of residents participated in a thrilling treasure hunt to secure coveted free tickets to all the evening concerts at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. The event, held on Saturday (June 1), saw eager participants searching high and low for 80 golden envelopes hidden across the Eisteddfod field.

The treasure hunt, organized by the Eisteddfod team, featured tickets to upcoming shows by renowned artists such as Sir Tom Jones, Kathrine Jenkins, Simple Minds, and Madness. The excitement peaked when the first set of envelopes was discovered within just 20 seconds by a quick-thinking participant who spotted them taped underneath a plastic traffic cone near the town-end gate.

Families, including children and dogs, joined in the hunt, spending hours scouring the field for the golden envelopes. The event not only provided entertainment but also saved participants hundreds of pounds on tickets to the summer shows.

Eisteddfod vice-chairman John Gambles expressed his gratitude to the residents for their continuous support and participation in the treasure hunt. The success of the event highlighted the strong community spirit and enthusiasm for the upcoming festival.

Overall, the treasure hunt was a resounding success, bringing joy to many residents who walked away with tickets to some of the biggest shows of the summer. The event showcased the spirit of unity and collaboration that the Eisteddfod aims to promote.
