Viz Media Unveils Exciting New VIZ Originals One-Shots for Manga Fans
Viz Media recently announced the release of the first four VIZ Originals One-Shots on its new manga platform in the U.S. The one-shots, including “Cinematic Certitude,” “Ancient Melody,” “Skin & Bone,” and “The Stranger,” offer a variety of genres and styles for readers to enjoy.
This new platform allows creators in the U.S. to submit short original one-shot stories, with guidance from former Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump editor-in-chief Hisashi Sasaki. Successful submissions will be published digitally by Viz Media and may even be developed into anime or consumer products in the future.
The Viz Originals graphic novel imprint, launched in 2019, aims to collaborate with manga-inspired creators to bring fresh and innovative stories to readers. The Viz Manga service, launched in 2023, offers a wide range of manga titles, including simultaneous English releases of ongoing series from Shogakukan and classic manga titles.
