Who is Indira Varma’s Character in Doctor Who? All You Need to Know
Indira Varma is set to star in the upcoming episode of Doctor Who, alongside Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson, among other guest stars like Jinkx Monsoon, Jonathan Groff, and Golda Rosheuvel. The new episode, titled Rogue, will see Varma portray the character of the Duchess of Pemberton in the Regency period.
The story follows the Doctor and Ruby as they land in 1813, only to find themselves at a party hosted by the Duchess where guests are being murdered. A mysterious bounty hunter named Rogue is also set to change the Doctor’s life forever.
Showrunner Russell T Davies has teased that the Duchess will unleash terror and keep audiences on the edge of their seats. Varma expressed her excitement about joining the Doctor Who universe and reuniting with Davies, having previously worked with him on Torchwood as Suzie Costello.
While there are theories suggesting a connection between the Duchess and the Toymaker’s “legions”, nothing is confirmed yet. Varma’s previous work includes roles in popular series like Game of Thrones, Luther, and Rome, showcasing her versatility as an actress.
