The public prosecutor had also requested against Mr. Jimenez a ban on possessing or carrying a weapon, as well as the suspension of visitation and accommodation rights for his children, but was not followed by the JLD.
No suspension from his job as a police officer
The defendant, aged 45, was taken into custody on Tuesday at the Nogent-sur-Marne police station (Val-de-Marne). He was referred on Wednesday for placement under judicial supervision.
“We have every confidence in justice and we are convinced that the truth will emerge during the trial,” Mr. Jimenez’s lawyer, Sandrine Pegand, reacted in a press release on Wednesday. We will implement all necessary means to prove the innocence of our client and demonstrate that the allegations against him are totally inconsistent and unfounded. »
In a press release sent to AFP, the UNSA affirmed that Mr. Jimenez had decided “to withdraw from [his] mission in order to devote himself completely to his defense”, specifying that he had not otherwise not been suspended from his police duties.
